Childcare ....? I understand how overwhelming this feels as I too have sent my older children to childcare and returned to work, so appreciate that you need to find the right care for both you and your child.
I am a qualified Early Years Practitioner with a Diploma of Higher Education (Open University, 2014) and have over 20 years experience working predominantly with children aged 0-10 years.
My Ethos: It’s really important to me that children feel secure and involved and I encourage them to choose their own play. I respond to the individual child’s need, and become aware of their language, using body language and eye gaze to help me understand them. I am patient, allowing them time to receive and understand information …. And I wait for a reply! We spend lots of time outdoors, including the beach, woods, National Trust and wildlife reserves where they can freely explore. I hope that your child will become a confident, competent and happy learner who flourishes in my care.
What sort of learning do I offer your child? Every part of a child’s life is a learning experience, from getting up in the morning and learning to get dressed and eat breakfast to having a story before bedtime. I aim to complement your child’s home experiences with exciting, playful activities during the day. For example your child will be involved in real life learning from visiting the shops and local library and they will make friends with other children when we attend toddler groups and other fun child centred activities. Their learning will be spontaneous because we will always be able to make the most of a sunny/snowy/windy/ rainy day.
What are my fees? As a self employed nanny I charge an hourly rate of £15.00, however this differs slightly for a nanny share. You are able to use your Childcare Vouchers or Tax Free Childcare scheme with me, but unfortunately you can not use any of your funding options.
